I think “detox” is a word thrown around way too often. It sounds enticing, why wouldn’t we want to detox? The problem is, many products that are marketed as detoxes are WAY too harsh. When it comes to detoxing, you don’t need to take a pill or try such drastic regimens. There are many natural ways to help detox your system of all the toxins you’re exposed to every day (processed food, outdoor pollution, chemicals in products, etc.).

Here are some my favorite ways to detox.

  • Start your morning with warm water with lemon.

Lemon is naturally alkalinizing and helps flush toxins out of the body. Drink warm water for best results!

  •  Eat organic fruit first thing in the morning.

Fruit is the most naturally detoxing food in the world! Always eat organic fruit, especially if the point is to detox (eating detoxing food with chemicals sprayed on it would be counterintuitive). Eat fruit in the morning on an empty stomach to absorb the most benefits.

  • Dry Brushing

Dry brushing stimulates the skin, improves function of the nervous system, and increases lymphatic flow to help rid the body of toxins. Bonus – it can also help reduce the appearance of cellulite!

  •  Practice Yoga

Movement encourages circulation in the blood and lymphatic system. Every twist and turn in yoga has a purpose… it improves digestion, reduces tension and stress, and loosens joints. The more you practice yoga, the less toxins
you will have in your body

  • Infrared Sauna

Sweating is one of the most natural ways to eliminate toxins. Saunas and steam rooms are great, but did you know infrared saunas help you eliminate nearly 7x the amount of toxins as the others?! So, if you have a  choice, choose infrared sauna!

You don’t have to incorporate all of these methods everyday, but try to start adding them into your regimen. Fruit for breakfast and lemon water are easy daily habits. Aim for the others once in a while, and soon you’ll be hooked. :)
