How much water do you think you need a day? ➡️

A: 8 glasses a day (64 oz).

B: 1 gallon (128 oz)

C: Half of your weight in ounces

(Answer explained)

Ok so – here’s the thing with how much water you “should” drink a day. Like most health related things, it’s not black and white. It depends on your activity level, if you sweat a lot (need more), if you’re in a hot climate, etc. MY general rule is 1/2 your weight in ounces, at least. So I go for about 60 oz a day. Also, there are so many better ways to hydrate yourself besides just water….

For example … Eating foods high in water + drinking 30 oz of water will hydrate you more than just drinking 60 oz of water alone. Make sense? A combo is necessary. Cucumber and watermelon are HUGE for this. Also, adding chia seeds into your water, letting them expand, then drinking this gel-like substance that they turn into is amazing.

I found it super helpful when I learned these tips because I know what a pain it can be to drink large quantities of water all day long. But the good news is that hydration comes in many forms. So when we choose to eat hydrating foods along with drinking water, herbal teas, and green juices, we can stay hydrated without thinking twice :)
