Morning Skincare Routine Steps & Products Feat The Skinny Confidential

My Routine:

Step 1: Beauty By Design Purify No. 174 Conditioning Cleanser.

This one has a little bit of salicylic and a little bit of apple extract. There’s something about this that feels active and wakes me up in the morning.

Step 2: Kate Somerville DermalQuench Liquid Lift.

I’ve used this for the past 7 years (tried and true). This is an oxygen spray infused with hyaluronic acid. I love the smell of this, and as soon as it goes on your skin, it feels silky and sucks right in. I use this morning and night. Oxygen is the best if you have a big event because it boosts circulation, giving you that rosy glow.

How to: You basically do 3 stripes on one side, rub it in, then do 3 stripes on the other. Oxygen facials are AMAZING, and this is supposed to emulate that.

Step 3: Fresh Black Tea Kombucha Facial Treatment Essence.

Toner is such a loose term – it can literally mean anything: active, non-active, etc. This one’s very gentle, non-active and anti-pollution (which I love, being in L.A.). I just put this on my hands and dab it on my face. It’s really cooling and fresh in the morning.

Step 4: Juice Beauty Signal Peptides Firming Serum.

Most serums I like are really liquidy, but this is the first one that’s a little bit thicker. I use firming where there’s lines or folds in my face. Juice Beauty is so clean and super organic. The first ingredient in all their products is green juice (vs. water), so it’s not diluted. This is great for morning or night, but I like it in the morning so you’re nice and lifted.

Step 5: Juice Beauty Prebiotix Viola + Kumaru Hydrating Gel Moisturizer.

This is pretty light, so if my skin is really dry, I might use something thicker, but this is what I’m using right now. And then we jade roll -I keep it in the fridge, and roll up my face.

Step 6: bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Defense.

I like this because it’s a physical sunscreen, which is usually white and chalky, but this one is one of the best I’ve seen. I like physical sunscreen better because it works right away.

Lauren’s Routine:

Step 1: Collosol EAU De Lait Cleansing Milk.

Karl Lagerfeld used to bathe in this, so it’s a major one. This is less of a cleanser and more of a milk, so it’s very soft and delicate. If I have a huge pimple on my face (which happens a lot), I use Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm.

Step 2: Tata Harper Hydrating Floral Essence Moisturizing Toner.

I really like her products- they’re non-toxic and so good. I feel like with a mist, you’re breathing it in, so you want it to be non-toxic. I wake up and mist everything.

Step 3: Dr. Dennis Gross Vitamin C + Collagen Serum.

The collagen and vitamin C in this tightens and firms the skin. With this, I’ll do my facial manipulation with the Clarisonic Uplift. I cannot put makeup on without facial manipulation or it’s like putting makeup on a pig. You can also buy a $9 vibrator off amazon and use that. You’re laying down all night, so you get all that fluid in your face. The second you wake up, that facial manipulation stimulates you and tightens and firms your face – it really works!

How to: Take it up your face, down the neck and under eye.

Step 4: Dr. Dennis Gross Hyaluronic Marine Oil-Free Moisture Cushion.

There’s something about this that cushions the skin for when you add foundation or CC cream that is just lays, which is SO important. This is like a cloud. I love Dr. Dennis Gross products because you know they’re not going to clog your pores.

Step 5: Glo Skin Beauty Tinted Sunscreen.

I apply my sunscreen with a beauty blender because you have all these products on your face from the routine, and then you put sunscreen on and it doesn’t feel like it’s patting on the skin. Make sure your beauty blender is a little damp. This one will lay nice under makeup, but it can also BE makeup if you’re too lazy to do makeup, like me.

Step 6: H is for Love Palmarosa Lip Conditioner.

Everyone needs this. There’s something about the smell that rounds out this entire beauty routine. I do this at night and in the morning. I got it because my facialist does it on me after a facial, so I associate the smell with being done with my skincare routine. It’s all natural and delicious – I love it.

Pro Tip: Don’t use too many actives in the morning.

Those are our morning routines!
